Hello...

Hi, I'm Emmie Turner MAAT AATQB, the proud owner of FJH Bookkeeping Services. My background is in the hospitality and education industry and I set up FJH Bookkeeping Services to work around my family. As a business owner I understand that there are often many hats to wear and being a mum of 3, I know time is precious. My goal is to give business owners peace of mind over their financials, freeing up time to spend on what matters most.

My accountancy journey first began over 10 years ago while working in the hospitality industry. As a manager in a busy hotel close to Manchester Airport, I enjoyed analysing the P&L at the monthly management meetings and actively taking part in annual budget setting for the hotel. It was here that I first started studying towards the AAT qualification. In the second year of my studies, I joined an accountancy practice, which allowed me to put my learning to use, completing the bookkeeping for a variety of different businesses, including the processing of payroll and VAT submissions.

On completing my Diploma in Professional Accounting with the AAT, I was approached by my tutor to become a lecturer. This role saw me teach all levels of the accounting qualification, both on-site in our Manchester city centre office, and off-site at clients offices ranging from Warrington, Liverpool and Hemel Hempstead! The long hours and travel wasn't sustainable once I had started a family, and after juggling my career and family life, I opted for a part-time finance role within an early years childcare provision.

Finding myself the unofficial 'go to' for friends in business, who were struggling to find the time to keep on top of their business financials, I set up FJH Bookkeeping Services to support them. It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to see the weight lifted from them, knowing that someone was keeping track of their finances, and giving them the time back to spend with their family or on other areas of personal and business development.
